Bringing his American roots across the Pacific Ocean, San Diego native Jason Picker has been a rising part of the Sydney jazz scene. Combining old-school blues with both traditional and modern jazz ideas, his unique style has found a place in both Southern California and New South Wales. Jason studied Jazz Performance and Business Administration at the University of Southern California where he studied with jazz icons including Russell Ferrante (Yellowjackets), Bob Mintzer, and Alan Pasqua (Tony Williams Lifetime). While in University, Jason played at events for notables figures including sitting congressmen and entertainment industry icons such as Ron Howard and Dr. Dre. He is currently working as a musician in Sydney, Australia and can be found performing at popular venues including The Swinging Cat, Meraki Arts Bar, and the NSW Library.
